Reunion Details

I was wondering about the Reunion fee - which events are covered by our $80/$110 fee?

Also, please give me more specifics on what you consider to be "Casual" attire.  To some that may mean shorts & flip flops , to others it may mean slacks and a jacket (but no tie) for a guy.  Seeing as Saturday evening's dinner is at the Amarillo Club, I am assuming attire would lean more toward the latter than the former, but would still like some confirmation about it.

Oh, and just my two cents' worth ~ I hope that the atmosphere during our time together is conducive to catching up with friends that we may not have seen in a long time.  For me, that would include having the lights bright enough  to see across the room (despite wanting to hide our wrinkles & gray hairs - ha! We all have them because we're the same age, so who are we trying to fool?) and the music to be something to be enjoyed in the background, possibly provoking some memories & being conversation starters , but not something demanding our attention, causing us to need to practically yell in order to be heard or carry on a conversation.

Hopefully we are old enough by now to care about things that truly matter in life, more than just appearances. I enjoy a party as much as the next person, but I hope this is more than a party.  I hope it is a chance to connect with others. I am looking to renew friendships, and maybe even to make new friends, since I didn't know very many of you well during my 2 years in Amarillo.

Okay, I'll get off my soapbox now, and conclude by saying THANKS  to those who are doing the work to make this reunion possible!

My wife is asking the same question about how casual as well. She wants to dress up, so I'm telling her go for it! I don't mind...

Carol, I did not see this letter until tonight, we have been mainly contacting people through our facebook group. Regarding the reunion.  As you can imagine, with over 100 people attending, now at 156, we tried to accommodate many people's wishes.

We have the Friday night planned to be a very relaxed atmosphere with light background music that will allow people to talk to old friends either on the patio or in the room off the patio.  People are also welcome to meet up on Saturday to spend time together before the event on Saturday night.

On Saturday night we will have an area outside the ballroom, in the large open foyer to sit and talk away from the action but we do plan on having a band that will play lots of our old favorites and engage dancing and fun which may be louder than you would like but again you can leave the area if needed.  Just as you have your ideas of fun others have expressed their desire for a more fun lively atmosphere as many are still very young at heart and like to have a wild and crazy time.

Regarding the attire, the Saturday night event is not at the Amarillo Club but at the Amarillo Country Club which is more casual.  People can feel comfortable wearing shorts and jeans to the Friday night party and jeans or khakis on Saturday night with the women wearing capri type pants or fun skirt or casual dress.

I hope this helps and I hope everyone finds something they can enjoy at our reunion

Thank you, Kathy, for all the details.  I am looking forward to being there.  I tried to reply to you the other day after you posted, but the web site does not work correctly with my Android tablet; it does not let me do any typing, and I can only open links by opening them in a new tab.
